Good clothes are back at Paris Fashion Week

Exciting runway moments, high brand energy, loose garments bursting with color, and overall positive vibes during this seasons Paris Fashion Week

Hello! I’m reporting live from London where I’m currently taking a few days off after this season’s Paris Fashion Week. The week was busy as usual, and although my content output has felt minimal, there were a lot of great moments that helped me get a sense of where fashion is heading this year.

Ok, back to business. This January I laid low during PFW simply because I wanted to step back and observe the energy rather than exhaust myself with every showroom I could possibly find. Instead I was observing the people, trends, and some presentations I was invited to throughout the week.

I found the slower approach much more effective in getting a better scope of where fashion is heading and what people are generally excited about.

Some general notes from this week:

Long wool coats were everywhere
Brown leather jackets also made their appearance. I’d say it was the 2nd most popular outerwear item I saw this week
Funky and colorful scarves were the it accessory of the week
It was quiet for sneakers. Instead I saw more elevated leather footwear like derbys and boots
Clothing is in an exciting place right now. From what I saw and heard, almost all of the new collections that were on display were very strong.
Baggy and flowy fits still reign supreme. I did think slimmer fitted bottoms were going to be more of a thing this season, but I guess I was wrong.
Almost every brand with their own showrooms that I spoke to seemed to be very happy this season. The business side of fashion seems to be doing well.
The overall energy this season was high. The people are happy, the clothes are good, and all of this is causing buyers to spend more money for their stores.
Overall, I think we have an exciting future of fashion ahead that hasn’t felt like this in a while.

Below is some imagery of what I saw this week that has me excited for the future. This stuff is upcoming so release dates are pending.

Tarvas debuted a new Derby model that’s coming later this year that I’m fully locked in on. A wider toe box on this one with some classic reinforced rubber around the sole for some extra protection. It’s a simple 4-eye style lace-up that has a hint of Tarvas style that makes this an automatic purchase for me.

The Auralee Fall 2026 show was bursting with color—something that the brand continues to nail perfectly each season. This is the time of the year where everything feels gloomy and dark, but that’s not stopping Auralee from having fun. Definitely one of my favorite shows I saw this week. The people loved the new collection and so did the kids, apparently!

Having a chance to experience the show in person definitely helped me understand the brand better. Big thank you to those at Auralee for inviting me! You know who you are.

ROA continues to do their thing for FW26. More or less similar vibes that we’re used to with some new footwear styles and a bunch of new clothes that seem to continue to get better with each season.

Camiel Fortgens AW26 was hosted in a private Parisian home for an intimate viewing of their new collection. They also gave out stroopwafels! If you ever attend PFW then you know the eating schedule is pretty much non existent that week, so I’ll take any snack I can get.

Models walked through the home while paired with various everyday sounds of phone ringing, or the pre-announcement subway tune. The clothes were great, I’m particularly hyped on the leather jackets that referenced aged furniture.

This is my second time attending the Adidas Y-3 show and it was awesome as always. Getting to see none other than Yohji Yamamoto seated at the front enjoying the show was also a special moment. Mark Gonzales walked the show, which was strictly for the skaters—after the show I caught up with some friends and that was definitely a highlight we were all hyped on.

For their Fall ‘26 collection, Y-3 also debuted a collaboration with artwork from Chito. Clothes themselves were excellent. I’m usually not the typical customer of Y-3, but this time around it felt like there were a lot more things I could actually apply to my wardrobe with ease, and that had me excited.

Big hair moments were happening over at J.L-A.L for FW26. The collection continues to expand on the technical ideals that the brand was founded upon. Great to see slightly slimmer fits while still retaining a certain level of flowiness throughout—pants were very strong in this department.

The Vowels Autumn/Winter 2026 collection was also very cool. Rather than a traditional runway show, Vowels chose to display the collection through individual rooms that are set in the different time zones the brand operates out of. From there you’re able to walk free to experience the different themes.

Each room had its own aesthetic and details that showed off the clothing that were designed in Aoyama and manufactured in Japan—lots of bold patterns and colors, something we need more of so I’m hyped.

These were just some of the moments I got to experience this week. There’s definitely a lot more that’s worth looking at on your own time. I highly suggest checking out the Sacai, Lemaire and YOKE collections—although I wasn’t invited to those presentations, they were some of my favorites of the season.
