I have to come clean. Recently I’ve been yearning for more layers in my life. Summer has been great but the slightly cooler night days have been reminding me how much I miss layers.

There’s going to be plenty of opportunities to layer up in the near future though, but it never hurts to start thinking about that early. Plus, there have been number of nights where it isn’t scorching hot, giving me a chance to throw on a nice shirt or other layers comfortably—I don’t know, maybe this is just Montreal, or East Coast in general, but the heat is no joke.

Just a taste of today’s recommendations—we have a lot of shirts, pants and some stuff in between to keep our wallets busy this week.

I’ve been wearing a lot of shirts again, so today I wanted to go through what options have been on my radar recently. We’ll also go over some new collections from some of my favorite brands you can buy right now, where you can get great quality French made garments on sale for 40% off, pants I can’t stop thinking about, and a bunch of amazing garments that are worth your money in today’s round up.

SHIRTS SHIRTS SHIRTS

Still lots of time to pick up some cool and exciting shirts for the summer. There are a few great short sleeve options from Monitaly that have been on my mind as of late. Constructed using lightweight cottons that are popping with colors. I find that Monitaly shirts fit true to size, with a bit of a wider shape to their shirting—great for those who don’t want to be bound by the fabric, and instead enjoy that free flowing feeling.

The Monitaly 50s Milano Shirts come in a slightly wider, relaxed fit. So you can take advantage of the higher end fabrics that will drape over your body, giving you extra mobility and breathability. -

I know a bunch of you still have late summer wedding plans lined up. So, if you’re looking for a more of a statement type shirt, you know, something that has unique detailing that will be fun to wear in the evening for example, then Kartik Research should be on your list of stops.

Their selection is vast and while sizes are limited on their online store right now, their New York location is definitely worth stopping by for more sizing options—61 Orchard St. Of course you can also check out their many retailers that carry different products from various seasons!

Some of my favorite shirts from Kartik Research

Switching up the pace with something a little bit different that I’ve been rocking with lately. Curated Parade is one of my personal secret weapons when it comes to simple, yet elevated garments, that have unique details. I find that their stuff, especially the bottoms, fit really well, so I keep coming back.

In the case of the Island Box Shirt, the detail here is that you get that extra bit of wavy fabric around one of the button holes that just gives the entire piece a little bit more flavor. It’s subtle and that’s why I like it.

The Curated Parade Island Box Shirt also comes with a smaller collar which I really like. Simple, flowy and perfect for the summer.

James Coward shirts just got re-upped over at Lost and Found. Lots of earth tones with dropped shoulder fits here. Nothing much has to be said, but if you haven’t experienced one of Canada’s finest, then this might be a good chance to do so. Their stuff tends to sell out quickly, so I wouldn’t sleep on this one.

James Coward is a Vancouver based brand that utilizes high quality fabrics, great hardware detailing and focus on construction to create timeless garments.

NEW HEAT FROM MANRESA

New Manresa collection went live recently featuring an array of great stuff you need to know about. The team has been hard at work to bring a new meaning to their clothes, with a continued focus on bringing new level of quality with each new drop. I find that the stuff they make is not only well priced, but is just enjoyable to wear on an everyday basis.
