You’re just jealous because you’re still a blog instead of a media because you were not smart enough to evolve and now you’re hating on successful media because you’re broke
The luft post test is so telling bc it’s proof positive these accounts have no unique or personal point of view (even tho their goofy ass captions constantly draw ppl in with first person internet slang), they are just constant content and engagement farms ripping whatever is new
Great article. Made me reflect on my time on superfuture from 2007-2010ish. Fashion was truly a niche topic for cool people who had a nerdy enough streak in them to post on a forum. I felt like I had found a tribe of sorts. We even had local meetups! But all the dudes on that forum had real jobs. Fashion wasn’t their job. The guy with the best fits (shoutout cheepmotherfucker) actually worked a blue collar job.
Social media and influencer culture has completely gutted any seemingly unique/hobby or interest. Nothing feels special anymore. And if it does, it’s fleeting. And you’re already onto the next thing because you know it.
Tbh, it’s not just text over photo. Endless accounts posting “inspirational imagery” for the past what, 5 years? 10 years? They did the same for me. If you follow a topic for long enough, you kind don’t need much content anymore (except a rare good one) and stop caring
Thank you for this txt. It's honestly one of your best posts so far. Please keep writing this is exactly the kind of discussion fashion media needs right now. Thoughtful and incredibly relevant!!

Is it media, or is it text over photo Instagram accounts reposting marketing photos?
"Instead of a media" bro what are you on about
Preach
The luft ripple drove me insane, but thanks for the original
I absolutely LOVE the Kanye reference

I don’t know if there is any going back.
