Rounding up August's best items

Instagram is dead!! As many of you know, the monthly round-up is based on the SNL IG account and what performs the best that month in terms of likes. In the last few months, IG took a massive dump regarding engagement, and the numbers have never been lower. It’s low-key discouraging to try to post content on there because nothing performs well. I’ve had discussions with brand owners and those who run their own blogs and they all say the same thing — the engagement has fallen off and there’s nothing that can be done. Oh well, what can you do?

Anyway, enjoy the August Top 10 — which is insanely shoe heavy this month, but realistically there weren’t a lot of hot garments that were worth obsessing over this month. Make sure you check out some of this month’s past articles in case you missed any of them:

10. 18 EAST SAPH JEANS

One of my favorite jeans I own right now. I got a size slightly smaller because they didn’t have my size and thought I was going to die. They didn’t fit!! Didn’t stop me from pulling a fit off because after 5 or so wears they started stretching out and have now become some of the most comfortable jeans I own. Currently available on their website. Don’t sleep!!

9. PRADA LEATHER JACKET

I don’t want to know how many thousands of dollars this costs, but it is nice to look at. Prada leather products are insane, but the price hurts me to even consider something like this. Maybe one day.

8. ASICS + ABOVE THE CLOUDS GT-2160

Another heavy hitter from a retailer? Sign me up. Above The Clouds store has a few ASICS under their belt now and all of them slap. Excited to see their relationship grow and hopefully we see more heat from them soon.

7. FRANK FRAZETTA FOR SUPREME

All over print is so back! Supreme FW24 just got announced, which brought an array of crazy heat. Including a collection with American Artist, Frank Frazetta. Still lots of time to cop these items, as they have yet to drop on the Supreme website.

6. KIKO KOSTADINOV CHALICE LACE-UP

Bless brands like Kiko Kostadinov for supplying us with something that is completely different. Can always depend on this brand to push the needle forward when it comes to design, which keeps things fun and exciting.

5. NIKE KILLSHOT 2 PREMIUM BLACK

You guys really yapped away your opinion on these. I loved hearing the mixed feelings around these. I still don’t know how I feel about them. Some changes can be made, but I do think the removable flap is cool. Killshots always got a bad rap, and I’m not sure if that’s justified.

4. DR. MARTENS LOWELL

Once in a while the Doctor cooks! The new Lowell model is hot, and comes with a bunch of great colorways that are currently available directly on their website.

3. PARABOOT THIERS & MICHAEL BRIDE

I know this is actually two items, but whatever. Paraboot have. These particular models are currently available over at the HVV Store.

2. HOKA + SATISFY RUNNING MAFATE SPEED 4 LITE

Can we agree this was the hottest collab of the month? These sold out instantly, but who’s actually surprised? Hopefully the Satisfy + HOKA relationship will continue because they’ve been killing every collab they’ve put out together.

1. FOOT INDUSTRY NEW BALLET

Thin midsole renaissance is alive and well! These shoes from Foot Industry blew everyone out of the water this month and I’m not surprised. These are still available for pre-order on their website. You’ve been warned.
