What jackets I'm wearing this fall

Insulated puffers, colorful plaid jackets, and light outerwear I'm obsessed with right now.

It’s the best time of the year. The air is getting crispier allowing us to finally whip out our favorite jackets for fall. At this point I have amassed an obscene amount of jackets. The truth is, I store most of them away even after I’m tired of them because I just have a hard time selling anything.

I do enjoy going into the archives and picking out something I haven’t worn in a while though, but most of the time, I have about 5 jackets or so that I end up rinsing for the season.

I try my best to make sure I have some sort of style variety when it comes to my outerwear selection. Most of the time I tend to let the weather dictate what my rotation looks like.

Some jackets are great for that cooler yet sunnier day, some are better for rain, some are better for really windy days, and so on. But then I end up liking what I like in a specific moment. Maybe it’s a specific material, a specific cut, or whatever it is, and before I know it I have several of the same style jackets in my day-to-day rotation. I just can’t help it.

The point is, there’s nothing wrong with having multiples in your closet. If that’s what you like, then that’s what you like. As you may have already guessed, right now I’m really into lightweight hooded jackets—that’s why I have 4 of them in my daily rotation. That’s just my favorite right now.

With that being said, I have a few other jacket that will get their moment. One of them being the Stirrup Insulated Jacket by Colin Meredith.

I just got the Espresso colorway recently, and the truth is I haven’t been able to really wear it because it just hasn’t been cold enough yet. But that’s all about to change in a week here in Montreal, so this piece is about to be put to work.

Colin Meredith’s clothes are always good and are only getting better. I love the technical theme that Colin sticks to with his designs—plus, Colin is just good people so I’ll support at any chance that I get.

The Stirrup is insulated using a 100 gram poly-fill, so no animal products are being used for the down fill—a detail I know a lot of you have been asking me about. It does come slightly cropped at the waist so I would recommend sizing up if you’re someone who has a longer torso.

Definitely a solid item that you can wear on its own or as an additional layer underneath another jacket. The Stirrup Jacket comes in two other colorways and are available directly on the Colin Meredith website here.

Recently I’ve been back on the MA-1 bomber—specifically this one from Alpha Industries and Tenue—an absolutely classic piece that will never go out of style. Bombers are easily available on the secondhand market for the low and come in all sorts of colors and lining.
