What to buy this week
New everyday shoes for fall, why a light jacket hates to see me coming, releases you don't want to miss, and more!
Welcome back to the weekly recommendations letter. The weather has finally cooled here in Montreal, so I’m finally thinking about layers in a proper way—all I know is a light jacket is going to hate to see me coming this season.
In today’s newsletter we have a bunch of great shoe releases coming our way, which is perfect because I’ve been meaning to refresh my everyday rotation for fall. We’ll also check out an upcoming apparel collection from New Balance that’s actually interesting, why I can’t stop wearing streetwear, what light jackets I have my eyes on right now, and more.
SUPREME FW25
I honestly love streetwear so much. I try to runaway away from it but it keeps pulling me back in. I think it’s something about not being able to afford it as a kid, but now with some available funds I just want to relive those memories. The newest Supreme collection got me on the hook, and all I know is I will definitely be acquiring a bunch of stuff this season.
Spend some time and check out the full preview here.
Below is just a quick rundown of some of my favorite items, but to tell you the truth, there is too much stuff this season that I really like.
INNOVATION AT ITS FINEST
Sometimes a simple change yields the largest results. For its latest release, Vans and Dime reimagine the classic Era model with the all new Skate Era Stub. At first glance things are looking mostly the same, but the difference are the 3 extra eyelids that run down to the toe box, giving the shoe a new and refreshed look.
The idea for this one came from a good friend of the blog, Conor, who fosters an array of amazing ideas in general, and will be the MC in the upcoming Dime Glory Challenge—more on that later. It’s a pretty straightforward idea that is a perfect example of sometimes less is more. Two simple colors will be dropping exclusively via the Dime website on August 30th.
SPEAKING OF SHOES
Goodhood absolutely snapped on their recent shoe releases. New heat from Purple Mountain Observatory, Merrell and Diemme all have wallet shaking. This fall I’m excited to dive back into the low profile hiking shoe/boot vibe, so these releases are right up my alley.
The Merrell 1TRL Wilderness SE is the definitive standout for me. That fuzzy suede will get me every time. Plus, Merrell 1TRL prices their product really well, they hold up and look good, and most importantly they are comfortable.
You can shop their selection on their website here.
ONE OF MY FAVORITE ITEMS OF THE WEEK
ASICS Skateboarding is really on the money recently. Their past releases have not only made me interested in skating them, but also just wear casually as an everyday shoe.
Their latest collaboration with Gino Iannucci on the LEGGEREZZA FB is set to release via the Poets website on August 27th, but I have a couple of other stores you can visit in case they sell out quickly.
