What’s up everyone, we got a packed letter today; we have an exclusive detailed look at the upcoming 18 East + Keen collab dropping at the end of the week, shorts I have my eyes on for the summer, a pair of affordable lambskin loafers that I can’t stop thinking about, and some other great recommendations that I’m excited about right now.
18 EAST + KEEN
Last year I wrote about the Jasper Zionic by Keen in collaboration with Pilgrim Surf Supply—a huge sleeper in my opinion. Comfort and colorway was great. Haven’t really thought about that model since, but we’re back with another Jasper Zionic in collaboration with 18 East, and it’s another good one.
What I like about this model is that it works on many levels; you can go hiking with it, or just treat it as your everyday city shoe. Either way, it’s just one of those shoes that you might not think you’ll wear a lot until you put your feet in them, and then it becomes your daily that you’re obsessed with.
This model comes with brushed suede detailing and Rajasthani 3M stitching that lights up under the right light. Go with your true size on this one!
The 18 East + Keen Jasper Zionic is dropping on Friday, April 17th on both 18 East and Keen websites.
LETTING THE DOGS OUT
Personally I haven’t been even thinking about shorts because the weather sucks here, but a lot of our readers seem to be in places where they are looking to expose their calfs to the sun.
So, here are a couple of shorts recommendations that I came across this week that I think you’ll enjoy as much as I did.
First we got a couple of new ones from the good folks over at Earth Studies. Can’t go wrong with a technical short this season that has a built-in belt and a fit that focuses on comfort.
Jorts and below the knee shorts in general still have a lot of steam left, so you can expect to see those a lot this summer. I really like these textured shorts from Heresy, but also these jorts in green are also going to be great this summer.
For my runners or those who enjoy mixing technical fabrics with their everyday wear will enjoy these Space-O 5” inch inseam shorts from Satisfy Running. You’re getting great engineered quality that’s built for performance.
You can’t go wrong with a classic all-cotton relaxed short from Stussy. This is one of those that you can wear outside, at home, on vacation, to the grocery store, whatever. It does it all and it doesn’t cost a lot of money.
